Laughter, tears and a lot of fun!
I had the privelage of photographing Ross and Cailin Murray in the studio this morning.
The session started with Ross in a fit of laughter giving me some fantastic photographs, this followed with some affectionate hugs and then some awkward moments when Cailin was a little over zealous whist jumping on Ross’s back!
So thats what they mean by sisterly and brotherly love huh? Enjoy!
A challenging shoot at TIS manufacturing, in Dyce, Aberdeen for NEUIDENTITY last week. A new state of the art Wireline Unit that is ready to be shipped to its customer was the product we were photographing. We used our new Hasselblad HD4 medium format camera for the first time in anger and I must say it was an absolute please to use, I am sure you’ll agree the quality of the images are very impressive.

We are looking for children to enter into the prestigious Fujifilm / MPA Portrait Awards, sponsored by one of the world’s top imaging companies, Fujifilm and the Master Photographers Association (MPA).
To qualify for this great offer, all subjects being photographed must be aged between 1 yrs – 10 years. Sessions are undertaken by appointment Tuesday – Friday between 9.00am – 5.00pm. The cost of the session is £19.99 normally £60.00!
After the session we will select the best image from your shoot and submit it to the competition free of charge. If your child is chosen as the outright winner of the portrait category, you will win £1,000.00! Runner up prizes are also up for grabs.
As per any portrait session we will invite you back into the studio to view your images roughly 7 days after the session, at this point you will be able to purchase frames etc. with 10% off our list prices!

You only have the one chance to capture that teeny tiny newborn stage of your baby’s life. Carol has now launched her newborn photography website and is offering half price sessions to anyone who books their due date – regardless how many weeks pregnant they are, before the end of February.
Newborn sessions are photographed by Carol and take place in your own home when your new baby is around one week young. If you are interested in having your newborn baby photographed then please contact us with your due date as soon as you know as our sessions are very limited. Don’t worry, we realise your baby may make an early or late appearance into the world, that’s why we ask you to contact us again once you have news!

Congratulations to little Sophia from Aberdeen who is our Nicholas Frost Photography Cherub of the Year 2011. Sophia will be the envy of all her baby friends as she has won a fantastic Daisychain of Westhill Designer Childrenswear voucher for £250!

Fabulous news today as Nicholas has just been informed that he has been awarded his ‘Associate Qualification’ with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers!
Nicholas had to submit 20 wedding images be be judged by a panel of five top photographers in the UK. The Associate Qualification requires a better creative interpretation, better choice of location, more thought and control, and faultless technique over the Licentiate Qualification and is only awarded to 5% of The Societies qualified members!
As you can imagine we are delighted!

We have decided to condense our three evening course into one intensive full day course. So, we have two new dates available! Each day only has 8 spaces and these are available on a first come first served basis.

We were delighted to hear today that we have won a quarterly prize in the Master Photographers Association’s ‘Cherub of the Year’ competition that recognises the UK’s very best baby photography and could lead one of our client’s collecting £1,000.
Our customer, Gillian Birss from Bucksburn in Aberdeen, receives a £25 shopping voucher for the winning image of her baby Anna, but more importantly goes forward to the final judging when the £1,000 cheque will be presented to the parents of the ‘Cherub of the Year’. Our cherubs sessions cost £75 and this includes three different portrait sessions at approx 4mths, 8mths and 12mths. At the end of the third viewing the customer receives three complimentary portraits to record their baby’s first year presented in a beautiful folding art leather triple folio.
The MPA prides itself on the quality of it’s membership, which is only open to full time professional photographers and each member adheres to a strict code of conduct.
This amazing accolade follows on from Nicholas winning the prestige title of MPA Scotland Photographer of the Year 2011 at the MPA Scotland awards which took place in May. Also at the Scottish Awards, the same winning photograph of baby Anna also gave him the title of MPA Scotland Cherubs Photographer of the Year 2011.
She certainly is our cherub of the year along with our other two grandchildren. You’ve done a great job with all their portraits!
