Its been a while since we last posted so we thought it was about time to share some of our recent work with you.

Most of our week is taken up with photographing your beautiful children both in the studio and out and about on location. Very popular with our clients is the Cherubs package which includes three studio sessions over the first year of your babies life and is a perfect way to record this precious time.

Our fine art location portrait photography for children is becoming very popular, and with the very changeable weather in the North East of Scotland makes for some very interesting results!

We are now starting to get into wedding season and have include a few images from some recent weddings, congratulations to all our clients who recently got married and look forward to working with you on your albums.

Not your ordinary portrait. We are currently working on a new style of fine art photography for children and family and as you can see it is going to be a little special! We were delighted to photograph Sophie and Jessica who braved the ever changing and very unpredictable Aberdeen weather. It is always nice to see our clients again. Emma and Fraser married last July when Frances was only months old. ‘Frankie’ now 1 year old came and visited us for a portrait shoot this week and she was a little star, smiles and more smiles!

Another great year for us at the Scottish MPA Professional Photography Awards. The ceremony was held at the Novotel in Edinburgh and Monday 26th March and we were absolutely delighted to scoop the Commercial Photographer of the Year, Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year, Contemporary Wedding photographer of the Year for the second year running and the Under Fives Photographer of the Year.

Congratulations to all of our photography colleagues that won awards and look forward to next year!

We were delighted and privileged to be wedding photographers for Rachel and Graham’s wedding on Saturday 25th February at Kings College Chapel and Norwood Hall.  Spring was in the air back at Rachel’s Mum and Dad’s house as we met with her after she had her hair and make-up by Ishoka.  We enjoyed photographing the beautiful shoes and preparations before moving onto what was surprisingly a rather windy Kings College Chapel.

Graham and the boys met with us after their pre-match meeting at the St Machar Bar, meanwhile usher David was wondering what happened to his buttonhole!  Rachel was indeed the blushing bride and looked incredibly stunning as she walked down the aisle to meet her husband-to-be.  After what was a lovely ceremony, the rather early April Showers started rather suddenly and the umbrellas kept the bridesmaids from misbehaving.

After some fog in the car, the love was in the air and the happy couple’s American friends were enjoying their ‘glamour posing’ as the sunshine appeared once again in full glory.

There may have been four seasons in one day, but it certainly was a beautiful one. Congratulations to Rachel and Graham and we wish them a fantastic honeymoon.  We hope you like the selection of photographs we have chosen from your special day.

Laughter, tears and a lot of fun!

I had the privelage of photographing Ross and Cailin Murray in the studio this morning.

The session started with Ross in a fit of laughter giving me some fantastic photographs, this followed with some affectionate hugs and then some awkward moments when Cailin was a little over zealous whist jumping on Ross’s back!

So thats what they mean by sisterly and brotherly love huh? Enjoy!

A challenging shoot at TIS manufacturing, in Dyce, Aberdeen for NEUIDENTITY last week. A new state of the art Wireline Unit that is ready to be shipped to its customer was the product we were photographing. We used our new Hasselblad HD4 medium format camera for the first time in anger and I must say it was an absolute please to use, I am sure you’ll agree the quality of the images are very impressive.

We are looking for children to enter into the prestigious Fujifilm / MPA Portrait Awards, sponsored by one of the world’s top imaging companies, Fujifilm and the Master Photographers Association (MPA).

To qualify for this great offer, all subjects being photographed must be aged between 1 yrs – 10 years. Sessions are undertaken by appointment Tuesday – Friday between 9.00am – 5.00pm. The cost of the session is £19.99 normally £60.00!

After the session we will select the best image from your shoot and submit it to the competition free of charge. If your child is chosen as the outright winner of the portrait category, you will win £1,000.00! Runner up prizes are also up for grabs.

As per any portrait session we will invite you back into the studio to view your images roughly 7 days after the session, at this point you will be able to purchase frames etc. with 10% off our list prices!

In 2010, we were runners up in this competition and one of our clients won a kodak digital camera!

So your hospital bag is packed and the baby’s nursery is decorated… but have you booked your newborn photography session yet?

You only have the one chance to capture that teeny tiny newborn stage of your baby’s life.   Carol has now launched her newborn photography website and is offering half price sessions to anyone who books their due date – regardless how many weeks pregnant they are, before the end of February.

Newborn sessions are photographed by Carol and take place in your own home when your new baby is around one week young. If you are interested in having your newborn baby photographed then please contact us with your due date as soon as you know as our sessions are very limited. Don’t worry, we realise your baby may make an early or late appearance into the world, that’s why we ask you to contact us again once you have news!

Congratulations to little Sophia from Aberdeen who is our Nicholas Frost Photography Cherub of the Year 2011.  Sophia will be the envy of all her baby friends as she has won a fantastic Daisychain of Westhill Designer Childrenswear voucher for £250!

It was a close race with Lily from Portlethen taking 2nd honours.  In joint third place is Caitlin from Blackburn and twins Max and Heather also from Aberdeen.  We can’t have our runners-up disappointed so a little something is on it’s way to you also.
